Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Memphis, Tennessee, United States; onsite facilities role

Salary: $23.50–$39.00 per hour

What you will do

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain facility machinery and building systems.
• Maintain chilled water, high-pressure steam, hot water, medical gas, pneumatic, hydraulic, and condensate systems.
• Service pumps, motors, gearboxes, variable frequency drives, fans, air compressors, glassware washers, and kitchen equipment.
• Perform facility rounds, equipment inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance while keeping accurate records.
• Complete work orders and documentation in the Computerized Maintenance Management System.
• Respond to technical service requests, escalate complex issues, and support or train Maintenance Helpers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years of experience maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment and systems required.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry issues and operate power tools.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and comply with federal, state, and local safety and health regulations.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, crawl, and frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work around wet conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, electrical hazards, vibration, and high noise levels.

Nice to have

• Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent education and training.
• Experience in a hospital, research, or similar environment.
