C&Q Engineer (Analytical Instrumentation)

Location: Primarily on-site in Thousand Oaks, United States, with limited remote flexibility for documentation-related activities. U.S. work authorization is required.

Base annual salary: $95,000–$115,000.

What you will do

• Serve as Equipment System Owner for computerized analytical instrumentation throughout commissioning and qualification.
• Provide technical oversight for standalone COTS instruments using vendor-supplied proprietary software.
• Review and approve qualification protocols, project documentation, and technical deliverables.
• Support equipment integration with network infrastructure for data storage while maintaining local instrument operation.
• Participate in qualification execution meetings, resolve technical issues, and provide system-owner input.
• Collaborate with validation teams, engineers, vendors, and other stakeholders, then facilitate knowledge transfer to the long-term Equipment System Owner.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, or a related technical discipline.
• 5–10 years of relevant experience in commissioning and qualification, analytical instrumentation, computerized equipment, or related regulated-environment activities.
• Extensive experience with analytical laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
• Knowledge of computerized equipment using vendor-supplied or proprietary software and experience reviewing qualification documentation.
• Strong technical documentation, collaboration, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to work primarily on-site and authorization to work in the United States; C2C arrangements are not available.

Nice to have

• Experience as an Equipment System Owner, technical owner, or in a comparable equipment oversight role.
• Experience with standalone COTS systems and network-connected data storage environments.
• Combined analytical testing and computerized equipment experience.
