Engineer (Biotech)

Location: US - California - Thousand Oaks; Flex Commuter / Hybrid. The position may allow telecommuting.

Annual salary: $120,869–$189,864, plus eligibility for bonus and stock-based incentives.

What you will do

• Transfer purification drug substance processes from laboratory settings into manufacturing facilities and perform process improvements.
• Assess bioprocess scalability through process modeling and equipment selection.
• Facilitate technical discussions and commercial technology transfers between manufacturing sites.
• Support process validation, process performance qualification, scale-up, and clinical or commercial manufacturing operations.
• Provide routine process monitoring, troubleshooting, data trending, and statistical process analysis.
• Contribute to deviation investigations, CAPAs, change controls, and operational excellence initiatives while collaborating with Manufacturing, Quality, and Regulatory functions.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least two years of experience in the offered position or an engineering-related occupation.
• Two years of experience with technology transfer into commercial facilities, PPQ, and process validation.
• Experience using JMP, Microsoft Office Suite, SIMCA, DeltaV, and PI Vision for data analysis, visualization, and process monitoring.
• Experience with chromatography systems, TFF, and Final Fill operations in stainless-steel systems.
• Experience developing GMP experimentation protocols and conducting root cause analysis investigations.
