Internship IT - Information Security (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hilversum, Netherlands. Hybrid internship with up to 3 work-from-home days per week for a 40-hour schedule; onboarding attendance may vary. The internship starts in February 2027 and lasts 5 months.

Internship allowance: €450 gross per month. Travel allowance: up to €23 per day, subject to eligibility.

What you will do

• Maintain and improve the Information Security Management System in line with recognized standards and best practices.
• Identify, assess, and track cyber security risks.
• Document security processes, standards, and procedures for consistent and auditable work.
• Assist with security assessments of vendors, tools, and internal systems.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and managed security providers on cyber security objectives.
• Support incident management, business continuity, threat hunting, gap analysis, event detection, and incident reporting.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an HBO, Bachelor's, or Master's program in cyber security or a related field, with at least the first semesters completed.
• Must remain enrolled at a school or university for the full 5-month internship.
• Strong interest in cyber security, particularly governance, risk, and compliance.
• Familiarity with IT networks and infrastructure, including systems, identities, and data interactions.
• Proactive, organized, and able to manage work independently.
• Eligibility under Dutch law: EU citizenship, a Family/Partner visa, or non-EU student status in the Netherlands with a mandatory internship or Nuffic Agreement.
