AWS Cloud Platform Engineer

Location: Berlin, Germany; hybrid arrangement with 80% office presence and 20% mobile working. Includes 10 days of work from abroad.

What you will do

• Design, build, and continuously improve an internal developer platform on AWS using Terraform.
• Automate infrastructure delivery through CI/CD pipelines such as Spacelift and expand self-service capabilities for product teams.
• Own and evolve core platform components so teams can build, deploy, and operate services more autonomously.
• Evaluate AWS services, cloud-native tools, and platform patterns that improve scalability, reliability, and developer experience.
• Strengthen security, compliance, and resilience through standards, guardrails, and robust platform design.
• Collaborate with product teams, review pull requests, share knowledge, and remove bottlenecks in developer workflows.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience operating critical, large-scale AWS environments across compute, storage, networking, backup and recovery, and cloud security.
• Deep experience with Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, automation, agile software delivery, and Platform Engineering.
• Experience developing or operating internal developer platforms is advantageous.
• Strong end-to-end ownership, structured problem-solving, and sound engineering trade-offs balancing quality, speed, and maintainability.
• Clear communication, openness to feedback, collaboration, and a focus on internal users.
