Counsellor

Location: Primarily based at hirify.global Logan in Meadowbrook, Queensland, Australia; hybrid option with up to 2 days per week from home; may require work across other campuses.

Salary: AUD 117,579–132,273 per annum plus 17% superannuation. Total FTE package: AUD 137,567–154,759 per annum.

What you will do

• Provide professional, confidential counselling for personal concerns affecting students’ study and lives.
• Deliver short-term, solution-focused support to help students return to personal and academic progress.
• Liaise with staff, stakeholders, and university departments on student wellbeing matters.
• Contribute to wellbeing initiatives, workshops, and awareness campaigns.
• Support students face to face and through video or telephone telehealth services.
• Travel between campuses using a university vehicle when required.

Requirements

• Four-year degree or equivalent in Counselling, Social Work, or a relevant field.
• High competency in counselling service delivery and significant postgraduate experience in individual counselling.
• Registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA, registration or eligibility for registration as a Social Worker with AASW, or registration as a Counsellor at ACA Level 3 or 4.
• Ability to work autonomously with a high degree of self-direction and minimal day-to-day supervision.
• Australian working rights are required; visa sponsorship is not available.
• A Queensland Blue Card is required unless the successful candidate is a registered AHPRA health practitioner.

Nice to have

• Mental Health Accreditation as an AASW social worker.
