Senior Python Developer

Location: Must be based in Riga, Latvia

Salary: €3,500–€5,000 gross per month

What you will do

• Develop and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Python and Flask.
• Understand a complex existing application and implement new features without disrupting current functionality.
• Design asynchronous processing and background job workflows with Celery and RabbitMQ.
• Work with MongoDB, Pandas, and NumPy to process application data.
• Debug application issues and maintain quality through automated tests, pull requests, and code reviews.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and collaborate with product, frontend, and DevOps teams.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software development experience with Python as the primary language.
• Strong Python knowledge and hands-on experience building REST APIs with Flask.
• Experience with Celery, RabbitMQ or another message broker, MongoDB, and automated testing.
• Experience making safe changes in large existing codebases and working with Git, GitHub, pull requests, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum teams.
• Professional working proficiency in English.

Nice to have

• Experience with GitHub Actions, AWS, Node.js, or Vue.js.
• Experience in financial services projects, including pensions or insurance.
