Focus on developing RF modules and subsystems, optimizing gain and noise performance, guiding PCB layouts, and resolving hardware anomalies.

Location: Tempe, Arizona, United States. This is a site-based role requiring work from a hirify.global office or work location at least 3 days per week. US citizenship is required.

Salary: $95,000–$149,500 annually. For specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area, the range is $117,500–$176,500 annually.

Company

hirify.global develops communication connectivity solutions for consumers, businesses, governments, and military organizations worldwide.

What you will do

  • Design and analyze microwave and millimeter-wave RF hardware for satellite payload transceivers, frequency conversion, and signal distribution.
  • Evaluate gain, noise figure, linearity, compression, phase noise, spurious performance, and link budgets.
  • Support architecture trade studies, gain lineups, frequency plans, component selection, schematics, and RF PCB layout guidance.
  • Characterize hardware using vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters, and oscilloscopes.
  • Support RF integration, troubleshooting, anomaly resolution, and environmental qualification testing.
  • Document designs and test results, use EM simulation and RF modeling tools, and present findings at technical reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 0–3 years of experience in RF, microwave, communications, aerospace, defense, or related hardware development.
  • Strong understanding of RF fundamentals, including S-parameters, impedance matching, transmission lines, gain, noise figure, and linearity.
  • Knowledge of microwave components such as amplifiers, mixers, filters, couplers, oscillators, synthesizers, switches, and attenuators.
  • Experience with RF test equipment, measurement techniques, RF circuit analysis, EM simulation, PCB design guidance, and data analysis or test automation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with satellite communications, aerospace systems, phased arrays, radar, or wireless communication products.
  • Experience with Keysight ADS, AWR Microwave Office, HFSS, CST, or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with millimeter-wave design above 20 GHz and digital communications concepts such as modulation, EVM, and adjacent-channel performance.
  • Experience with Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW for test automation and data analysis.
  • Understanding of reliability, manufacturability, and spaceflight hardware development processes.

Culture & Benefits

  • Collaborative work with systems, MMIC, digital, mechanical, manufacturing, and test engineering teams.
  • Medical, financial, and other benefits focused on employee health and wellness.
