Assembly Integration & Test Technician III (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Long Beach, California, United States. A Shift runs Monday–Thursday, 5:00am–3:30pm, with flexibility for extended hours, weekends, and varied shifts.

Hourly pay range: $28–$35 USD.

What you will do

• Assemble, integrate, and test spacecraft hardware using engineering drawings, work instructions, manufacturing procedures, and quality standards.
• Install electrical and mechanical hardware, including harnesses, avionics, heaters, RTDs, brackets, connectors, and other flight hardware.
• Perform functional checks, continuity testing, insulation resistance testing, spacecraft functional testing, comprehensive performance testing, and environmental test activities.
• Support spacecraft propulsion integration through hardware installation, pressure testing, leak testing, propellant handling, and system verification.
• Perform precision mechanical rework, troubleshooting, manufacturing risk reduction, and process improvements across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Support critical spacecraft lifts with overhead cranes, mobile gantries, and approved lifting fixtures while following safety and handling procedures.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant manufacturing experience or demonstrated subject matter expertise, preferably in aerospace.
• Technical leadership experience on complex spacecraft assembly, integration, and test campaigns.
• Experience with advanced mechanical rework, including drilling, tapping, precision alignment, and bonded repairs.
• Experience with spacecraft propulsion systems, pressure and leak testing, vacuum systems, thrust stand operations, or propellant handling.
• Experience integrating spacecraft subsystems such as solar arrays, propulsion systems, payloads, deployable mechanisms, or equivalent flight hardware.
• Must work onsite in Long Beach, California, and meet U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, qualifying refugee or asylee status, or eligibility to obtain required authorizations.

Nice to have

• IPC-WHMA-A-620, J-STD-001, or NCCCO Certified Rigger credentials.
• Experience with manufacturing work instructions, MRB, NCR, RCCA, 5-Why investigations, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma.
• Experience with SAP, MES, ERP, GD&T, design for manufacturability reviews, or customer and mission-critical hardware inspections.
• Cross-functional expertise across avionics, propulsion, structures, harnessing, environmental testing, and spacecraft integration.
• Experience mentoring technicians and driving workmanship excellence and continuous improvement.
