Tableau Developer (People Analytics)

Location: United States, remote; preference for CST working hours.

Salary: $73–$109 USD per hour, with pay varying by geographic location.

What you will do

• Redesign, develop, and enhance Tableau dashboards for workforce and workplace analytics.
• Translate stakeholder requirements and business questions into intuitive, self-service analytical products.
• Design, implement, test, and maintain dynamic row-level security for sensitive employee data.
• Develop and optimize Tableau data sources, connections, data models, and SQL queries, primarily using Snowflake.
• Troubleshoot data quality, performance, integration, and dashboard usability issues.
• Document security architecture and development procedures while transferring knowledge to the People Analytics team.

Requirements

• Significant professional experience developing, deploying, and maintaining complex Tableau dashboards.
• Advanced Tableau expertise, including calculated fields, parameters, filters, actions, data modeling, performance optimization, and visualization best practices.
• Demonstrated experience implementing Tableau row-level security, user-based access controls, entitlement mapping, and dynamic data filtering.
• Strong understanding of Tableau security architecture, permissions, data sources, and row-level security interactions.
• Proficiency with relational databases and SQL, plus strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to independently manage priorities, meet timelines, protect confidential employee data, and document sustainable solutions.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake, Alteryx, or similar ETL and data preparation tools.
• Experience with HRIS or People Analytics data, employee records, organizational hierarchies, and workforce metrics.
• Familiarity with Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud administration, permissions, and governance.
• Experience with Workday or other enterprise HR systems.
