Senior Product Engineer (AI)

Location: London, England, United Kingdom

Salary: £90k–£100k annually, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Own product outcomes end to end, from discovering problems with café owners, warehouse leads, and account managers through scoping, development, launch, and follow-up.
• Build and operate full-stack product capabilities across React Native/Web, Ruby/Rails, TypeScript services, AWS infrastructure, and data systems.
• Work directly with operations teams, customers, and warehouse staff to turn real-world feedback into product decisions and trade-offs.
• Prototype quickly and iterate toward better experiences for cafés and their users.
• Use AI agents as the primary development workflow by planning work, running parallel agent workflows, reviewing generated code, and maintaining tests and guardrails.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to AI engineering standards, workflows, and prompts.

Requirements

• 6–10+ years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent, with experience shipping and operating production applications.
• Demonstrated product ownership, including making scope and design decisions and working directly with customers or operations staff.
• Strong working knowledge of TypeScript/JavaScript, React Native/Web, Ruby/Rails, AWS, CI/CD, and distributed application architecture.
• Regular use of an agentic coding tool such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor agent mode, or similar to produce and review most code.
• Strong written and verbal communication with product, design, operations, and engineering stakeholders.
• Experience in a startup or similarly fast-moving environment delivering scalable, mission-critical production applications.

Nice to have

• Experience building LLM-powered features involving retrieval, tool use, agent workflows, evaluation, and model-output observability.
• Familiarity with Federated GraphQL, Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, microservices, and NetSuite.
• Experience with logistics, supply chain, marketplaces, or other operations-heavy products.
• Design sensibility and the ability to make reasonable UI decisions without waiting for a mockup.
