Senior Software Engineer, TorchPass Product Engineering (AI Infrastructure)

Location: On-site in Palo Alto, California, United States

Base salary: $150,000–$230,000 per year, plus eligibility for the company equity program.

What you will do

• Build and own TorchPass customer-facing installation, configuration, and product status interfaces.
• Keep product documentation accurate and updated with every release.
• Support customer evaluations by analyzing logs, diagnosing production issues, and distinguishing product defects from environment problems.
• Turn field feedback into product fixes, tests, and documentation.
• Define cluster requirements and product guarantees with the core engineering team.
• Extend TorchPass to additional schedulers and job launchers.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience building or operating production infrastructure software.
• Experience making infrastructure software installable and supportable by users who did not build it.
• Strong production debugging skills, including systems you did not write.
• Deep experience with Kubernetes or Slurm.
• Strong Python skills and the ability to read and modify Go.
• Technical documentation and customer-facing troubleshooting experience, plus a relevant degree or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with GPU clusters or machine learning training infrastructure.
• Release engineering experience, including build pipelines, packaging, and artifact delivery.
• Experience bringing up clusters across multiple cloud providers.
