Head of Technical Product Management (AI/Data)

What you will do

• Define and communicate the multi-year technical product strategy and roadmap for the cloud-native data platform and AI/ML infrastructure in partnership with the CTO and executive team.
• Own the technical product portfolio across FHIR, HL7, claims and EHR data ingestion, Databricks Lakehouse architecture, data products, and AI/ML tooling and infrastructure.
• Drive platform outcomes covering adoption, reliability, performance, unit economics, cloud costs, FinOps, DORA metrics, data product SLAs, ROI, and executive-level KPIs.
• Set technical direction for AWS, Azure, and GCP infrastructure, distributed systems, APIs, authentication and authorization, federation, observability, data quality, and AI governance.
• Lead Responsible AI and Agentic Driven Development initiatives, including AI gateways, evaluations, traces, drift detection, bias mitigation, clinical validation, and execution frameworks for engineering teams.
• Build and lead the technical product management organization, guide complex cross-functional initiatives, partner with customers and technology providers, and support go-to-market, pricing, packaging, hiring, succession, and organizational design.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• 15+ years of technical product management experience, including 6+ years leading platform, cloud, SaaS, or Data/AI infrastructure products at scale.
• 8+ years of people leadership, including experience leading managers and building high-performing technical product management organizations.
• Experience working with product engineering teams shipping platform software, with a focus on delivery quality and velocity, including DORA metrics.
• Experience building or scaling a technical product management function inside an Engineering organization, including hiring, leveling, operating models, career frameworks, and mature TPM practices.
• Executive presence and a record of influencing senior and executive leaders while owning technical product portfolio strategy and outcomes.
• Strong working knowledge of modern cloud data stacks, including Databricks and Snowflake, and data engineering best practices.
• Experience delivering ML and/or Generative AI solutions, with familiarity with Agentic Driven Development practices and AI evaluation and governance frameworks.
• Working knowledge of healthcare data standards and taxonomies, including FHIR, HL7, ICD-10, and claims data, plus HIPAA and HITRUST regulatory environments.
• Ability to make architectural and investment trade-offs and communicate them to engineers and executives, supported by exceptional storytelling, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have

• Hands-on coding proficiency in Python and/or SQL.
• Direct experience commercializing enterprise software for major health insurance payers or providers.
• Experience with strategic partnerships, M&A diligence, or platform ecosystem development.
