Head of Finance (AI)

Location: Hoofddorp, Netherlands; hybrid work with up to 2 days per week from home. Working from abroad is possible for up to 2 weeks.

What you will do

• Lead the finance function and a team of four full-time employees, setting priorities, standards, and development plans.
• Own monthly reporting, management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, annual accounts, audits, and internal controls.
• Act as a hands-on business controller by analysing profitability, margins, EBITDA, cost drivers, operational KPIs, and commercial performance.
• Lead the finance transformation agenda through AI and automation across procure-to-pay, accounts payable, invoice processing, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Optimise NetSuite, finance workflows, data quality, reporting, business intelligence, and the end-to-end finance operating model.
• Partner with the CFO and Leadership Team to support strategic decisions, business planning, risk management, and profitable growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Senior experience leading a finance function or substantial part of one in a high-growth, international, technology-enabled, or scale-up environment.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting, month-end close, management reporting, annual accounts, audits, controls, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
• Practical experience using AI and automation to improve finance processes and measure results.
• Experience with ERP systems, ideally NetSuite, plus advanced Excel and business intelligence, data analysis, or reporting tools.
• Fluent English required. Dutch is a plus.
