Staff Engineer - Enterprise Integration & APIs (AI)

Location: Billund, Denmark; hybrid work with an average of 3 days per week in the office

What you will do

• Drive technical direction for SAP integration and API strategy across multiple product teams.
• Establish and evolve integration and API strategies supporting data platforms, AI, and agentic capabilities.
• Connect long-term engineering strategy with day-to-day delivery, execution, and coordinated roadmaps.
• Define how enterprise data models and APIs work together across the digital landscape.
• Shape Staff Engineering practices within the Digital Platforms subdomain and wider engineering community.
• Collaborate with Principal Engineers, Lead Engineers, Product Managers, Product Teams, and Engineering Directors.

Requirements

• Technical leadership experience across multiple engineering teams.
• Experience building API management capabilities and standards in complex technology environments.
• Experience leading event streaming and event mesh implementations at scale.
• Experience shaping enterprise integration strategies, including SAP ecosystems.
• Experience applying Domain-Driven Design and translating technology strategy into practical execution.
• Ability to work in the Billund hybrid setup, averaging 3 days per week in the office; relocation support is not offered.

Nice to have

• Experience expanding SAP capabilities beyond integration-focused domains.
• Experience with enterprise data models and ontology-based approaches.
• Experience with developer experience, platform engineering, policy engines, or authorization management.
