Senior AI Platform Engineer

Location: Sydney, Australia; hybrid with 3 days in the office required. Relocation from overseas to Australia is supported with visa sponsorship.

What you will do

• Own the developer experience and engineering factory covering build, test, deployment, and local development loops.
• Build agent-safe environments with sandboxes, guardrails, evaluation capabilities, and context for autonomous coding agents.
• Own reliability through SLOs, on-call health, observability, incident response, and prevention.
• Manage AWS cloud infrastructure, scalability, and engineering cost visibility.
• Design platform capabilities for multiple teams, engineers, and agents contributing code.
• Educate engineers, remove systemic bottlenecks, and create clear paths for infrastructure contributions.

Requirements

• Experience owning developer experience, CI/CD, build and deployment tooling, and cloud infrastructure for a shipping engineering team.
• Hands-on experience with coding agents, agent environments, guardrails, evaluation frameworks, or related AI-native development workflows.
• Direct ownership of SLOs, on-call health, observability, and incident response.
• Ability to improve engineering practices across teams, educate others, and establish adopted platform standards.
• Product-oriented judgment, comfort with ambiguity and pace, and focus on customer and engineering impact.
• Experience with the exact technology stack is not required, but familiarity with AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, TypeScript, Python, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, GitHub Actions, or Datadog is relevant.
