Senior Scientist (AI for Medical Imaging & Biomedical Informatics)

What you will do

• Lead independent research projects applying machine learning, deep learning, and foundation models to radiology and biomedical imaging.
• Design and implement 2D and 3D CNN, transformer-based, vision-language, and foundational model architectures for CT, MRI, and X-ray.
• Develop quantitative imaging methods for segmentation, detection, volumetrics, density measurements, and biomarker extraction.
• Build scalable pipelines for data curation, preprocessing, training, evaluation, deployment, and experiment reproducibility.
• Collaborate with radiologists, clinicians, and engineering teams to support clinically meaningful research and translation.
• Mentor postdoctoral fellows and PhD students, and lead manuscripts, grant applications, and technical reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific area.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience, or 8 years with a master's degree, or 5 years with a PhD.
• Strong proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience with medical imaging AI, including segmentation, detection, quantitative imaging, and relevant evaluation metrics.
• Experience with modern AI architectures, version control, collaborative development, and reproducible research practices.
• Demonstrated ability to independently lead research projects through execution and publication, with interest or experience in mentoring junior researchers.

Nice to have

• Experience training, fine-tuning, or deploying LLMs and multimodal foundation models.
• Experience with DICOM, biomedical informatics, multi-omics, EHR data, clinical NLP, or imaging modalities beyond radiology.
• Experience with large multi-institutional datasets, cloud or high-performance computing, and research model deployment.
• PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field, plus postdoctoral research experience.
• Experience with translational AI development, regulatory-aware research, or direct clinical collaboration.
