Research Laboratory Technician (Clinical Research)

Salary: $42,700–$89,000 annualized base pay

What you will do

• Label, receive, process, log, ship, and store blood, urine, tissue, stool, and other clinical trial samples according to study protocols.
• Request tissue samples from external pathology facilities, coordinate slide preparation, and ship materials to study laboratories.
• Record clinical trial data in paper and electronic forms and enter information into departmental databases.
• Identify sample data discrepancies and coordinate corrections with clinical staff.
• Organize reagents, maintain equipment and laboratory cleanliness, and prepare collection tubes and aliquots for upcoming clinics.
• Manage inventories of clinical trial kits, laboratory supplies, and consumables while completing related administrative documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field required.
• Comfort using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and databases.
• Ability to follow clinical trial protocols accurately and responsibly.
• Ability to work on-site in Fairfax, Virginia.
• Previous laboratory, sample processing, and shipping experience is preferred but not required.
• IATA Dangerous Goods handling knowledge is useful; training is provided after hire if needed.
