US Field Development Representative (Agriculture)

Location: Madera, California (Fresno), United States; recurring outdoor field work and on-site plot tours are required.

What you will do

• Manage contracted and in-house field trials for herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, and biological products.
• Plan trial designs, layouts, planting, treatment applications, evaluations, and agronomic management.
• Collect, validate, and enter field research data into corporate databases.
• Develop action plans and budgets while independently managing priorities and timelines.
• Summarize biological data and communicate results to product development, technical service, marketing, and sales teams.
• Support plot tours, product demonstrations, industry events, and field research activities in the Central California territory.

Requirements

• Minimum MS in entomology, plant physiology, plant pathology, weed science, plant science, agronomy, or a related agricultural science.
• Knowledge and experience in farming operations, including ground preparation, equipment operation, cultivation, irrigation, planting, spraying, and fertilizing.
• At least 2 years of experience in agricultural product discovery, development, or commercialization is preferred.
• Working knowledge of disease, insect, and weed biology, agricultural cropping systems, field-testing procedures, and farm machinery.
• State pesticide application license required; a Pest Control Advisor or Certified Crop Advisor license must be held or pursued.
• Driver’s license required; ability to work outdoors in hot and cold conditions and carry a 50-lb backpack sprayer over uneven ground.

Nice to have

• Experience with ARM, FieldPro, or other field data-recording systems.
• Experience designing research protocols and projects.
• Bilingual communication skills.
