Technical Specialist - Door Modules, Window Regulators & Door Glass (Automotive)

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership for door modules, window regulators, door glass, and associated interfaces across vehicle programs.
• Define component and system requirements, engineering specifications, design guidelines, and acceptance criteria.
• Lead technical reviews covering concepts, detailed designs, drawings, GD&T, materials, tolerances, and interface definitions.
• Integrate door systems with structures, hinges, latches, seals, wiring, electrical controls, body systems, and vehicle trim.
• Coordinate supplier engineering, validation plans, testing, root-cause investigations, design-risk mitigation, and production readiness.
• Support manufacturing, assembly, launch, corrective actions, technical documentation, and mentoring of engineers.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive body, closure, door systems, window regulators, glass, or related component development.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• Experience taking components from concept through design release, validation, launch, and production support.
• Knowledge of power windows, anti-pinch, express-up/down functions, mechatronic controls, mechanical design, materials, GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and design for manufacturing and assembly.
• Experience with engineering change management, supplier technical reviews, structured problem solving, technical drawings, CAD data, test results, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to lead technical decisions and communicate recommendations, risks, tradeoffs, and decisions across cross-functional teams and senior leadership.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Experience with EMC, environmental durability, software changes, and software validation.
• Experience with NVH, wind noise, water management, sealing, durability, corrosion, or environmental validation of closure systems.
• Familiarity with DFMEA, PFMEA, design verification, production validation, APQP, and supplier quality processes.
• Experience with vehicle build events, plant launches, warranty investigations, field technical actions, global suppliers, and vehicle development teams.
