What you will do
- Respond to critical customer cases and restore service-impacting network conditions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve outages involving optical networking, routing, and switching products.
- Collaborate on complex incidents, provide technical guidance, and communicate with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Document troubleshooting actions, resolutions, and initial or interim root cause analyses.
- Participate in rotational weekend on-call coverage approximately once every 4–6 weeks.
- Contribute to lessons learned and best-practice initiatives that improve network recovery outcomes.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in a technical support role or equivalent experience maintaining equipment in operational networks.
- Experience applying optical networking and/or routing and switching products and network recovery techniques.
- Ability to analyze and resolve outages in high-pressure environments with stringent recovery objectives.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for customer and internal stakeholder interactions.
- Ability to work independently on outage recovery efforts while collaborating on complex incidents.
- Experience writing detailed root cause analysis reports, with strong attention to detail and prioritization skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with executive-level technical discussions.
- -related certifications or qualifications.
- Experience recovering networks from complex scenarios involving multiple nodes and causes.
- Experience mentoring others in technical expertise and customer engagement.
- Experience with product improvement initiatives such as DFO/DFS.
