Commercial Finance Manager

What you will do

• Provide analytical and commercial finance support across the global Farnell business, including P&L forecasting, budgeting, investment appraisal, scenario planning, and cost analysis.
• Develop financial forecasts, models, business cases, and short- and long-range financial plans.
• Conduct economic and financial analysis covering returns on investment, working capital, depreciation, investment performance, and regulatory impacts.
• Partner with regional accounting teams during month-end close to review, challenge, and explain financial performance.
• Produce accurate standard and ad-hoc reports, including trend analysis, narrative commentary, bridge analysis, and what-if scenarios.
• Act as a trusted advisor to management, providing KPI insight, recommendations, and challenge on complex commercial and financial matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with typically 8+ years of experience in business partnering, FP&A, or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience with complex accounting and financial systems.
• Experience advising management as a subject matter expert on complex financial and commercial issues.
• Strong financial modelling, forecasting, analytical, and data interpretation skills.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement, and make recommendations.
• Confident communication skills, including the ability to translate complex financial information for senior non-finance stakeholders.
