hirify.global Agricultural Solutions develops crop protection solutions for growers worldwide and is establishing a new Technical Center and R&D hub in Schaffhausen.

What you will do

• Act as the global subject matter expert for industrial bioprocessing, covering fermentation and downstream processing.
• Optimize commercial-scale processes for yield, productivity, robustness, cycle time, stability, and cost.
• Analyze process data, identify improvement opportunities, and lead root-cause investigations and troubleshooting of process deviations.
• Lead and support scale-up, scale-down, and technology transfer from laboratory and pilot environments to commercial manufacturing.
• Provide technical input to fermentation-related CAPEX projects, including equipment selection, process configuration, control strategies, and techno-economic assessments.
• Develop technical standards, best practices, and documentation while supporting critical campaigns and mentoring colleagues.

Requirements

• Degree in Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.
• 10–15 years of relevant experience in fermentation and downstream processing, including hands-on commercial-scale experience.
• Strong knowledge of bioprocess control and optimization strategies.
• Experience with scale-up, scale-down, technology transfer, CAPEX projects, equipment and process design, and techno-economic evaluation.
• Technical leadership, complex manufacturing problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and capability development skills.
• Fluent spoken and written English required.
