TL;DR
Security Engineer (PCI DSS): Defining application security for modular card payment infrastructure with an accent on vulnerability remediation, secure software delivery, and PCI DSS compliance. Focus on building security tooling, investigating unfamiliar systems, resolving audit findings, and handling customer security reviews.
Location: London, UK; on-site from the Shoreditch office Tuesday to Thursday
Compensation: £110,000–£130,000 plus equity, depending on level, with flexibility above that for a particularly senior hire.

builds modular card payment infrastructure that helps companies protect raw card data, reduce PCI compliance work, and improve payment acceptance, fees, and fraud outcomes.
What you will do
- Own application security initially, with scope to take responsibility for security across the business.
- Find and fix vulnerabilities in applications and infrastructure.
- Build security checks and tooling into software development and delivery workflows.
- Partner with engineers on security decisions in product and system design.
- Own security and compliance audits, including evidence collection and resolution of findings.
- Handle customer security reviews and questionnaires, explaining security controls clearly.
Requirements
- Deep, practical security expertise and strong production engineering skills.
- Hands-on experience with PCI DSS is essential.
- Ability to investigate unfamiliar systems and take fixes through to completion.
- Experience with card payments or securing a cardholder data environment is strongly valued.
- Experience taking audits through to resolution and working at a product company before Series C is valued.
- Comfort working as an individual contributor in an ambiguously defined environment and using AI daily to improve work.
Nice to have
- Experience as a first or sole security engineer.
- Experience with Rust, Node, AWS, Terraform, or Go.
- Exceptional achievements in or outside work.
