Systems Analyst (Insurance)

Location: Home Spain; hybrid workplace. The role primarily supports a second shift from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with a potential standard 9:00 AM–6:00 PM schedule on future projects.

Salary: €35,000–€50,000 per year.

What you will do

• Translate business needs into system requirements, workflows, data requirements, acceptance criteria, and documented business rules.
• Analyze insurance applications, integrations, data flows, and operational processes to support solution design and platform enhancements.
• Investigate API, integration, ETL, batch-processing, data-quality, performance, and workflow issues using SQL, logs, and system information.
• Participate in functional testing, solution validation, deployment readiness, post-production verification, and fix validation.
• Perform root-cause analysis and coordinate issue resolution with engineering, business, product, and external insurance partners.
• Develop lightweight scripts and utilities for data checks, compliance validation, log analysis, availability reporting, and repetitive operational tasks.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Systems Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Application Support Analyst, or in a similar technical role.
• Working knowledge of SQL and experience using data to investigate application or business issues.
• Basic understanding of APIs, system integrations, data interfaces, ETL processes, data pipelines, or data mappings.
• Experience troubleshooting application, system, integration, or data issues and working with production systems using appropriate controls.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and attention-to-detail skills, with willingness to learn unfamiliar systems and processes.
• Ability to work the second shift from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Nice to have

• Experience with insurance workflows or platforms covering underwriting, policy lifecycle, billing, claims, or servicing.
• Experience with low-code platforms, Python or another scripting language, MongoDB, Fivetran, Graylog, Splunk, or ELK.
• Exposure to API investigation, data integration, application performance, load or stress testing, and business-critical production applications.
