Corporate Development Lead (Wealth Management)

What you will do

• Lead corporate development and transaction execution across acquisitions, minority investments, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships in wealth management.
• Source and assess opportunities across registered investment advisers, broker-dealers, wealth platforms, advisor capabilities, technology, investment solutions, and adjacent services.
• Evaluate strategic fit, market attractiveness, competitive positioning, advisor and client value propositions, growth potential, economics, and scalability.
• Build and interpret financial models, valuation analyses, growth-rate analyses, transaction-return assessments, and capital requirement projections.
• Lead cross-functional diligence, negotiation, approvals, closing activities, executive management materials, and Board materials.
• Shape integration priorities, operating models, governance, value-realization plans, and retention strategies while coaching Analysts and other team members.

Requirements

• 5+ years of corporate development experience at a wealth manager or related wealth management organization, including investment banking, private equity, principal investing, or advisory experience at Associate level or above.
• Experience leading substantive portions of M&A transactions and evaluating wealth management, advisor network, and distribution businesses.
• Background at a top-tier investment bank, investment organization, or leading internal Corporate Development function.
• Bachelor’s degree required; a graduate degree is valued but not required.
• Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills, including the ability to assess transaction returns and communicate assumptions, risks, and implications.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional diligence and developing Analysts or other team members through coaching and mentoring.

Nice to have

• Direct experience at a leading wealth management firm.
• Knowledge of advisor-led distribution, client segmentation, recurring fee-based revenue, regulatory considerations, technology enablement, and industry consolidation.
• Experience in asset management, retirement, insurance, financial technology, or advisor services.
• Strong executive communication, relationship-building, commercial judgment, and transaction discipline.
