Methodology Engineer (AI Hardware)

Location: Mountain View, California (HQ) or remote; hybrid work format

What you will do

• Build and maintain linters, static checks, and schema-driven records that automate engineering rules.
• Turn CI, regression, and verification results into signoff dashboards and reports.
• Develop tooling for owned, justified, and current exceptions and waivers across tools and teams.
• Develop and test shared verification libraries and flows for RTL, verification, and physical-design teams.
• Apply methodology and evidence rules to AI-generated work and collaborate with the AI tooling team.
• Review escaped bugs and false alarms, measure process costs, and improve checks and workflows.

Requirements

• Production Python experience and comfort with a second language such as Rust.
• Experience with GitHub Actions or a similar CI system, plus Bazel or another large-repository build system.
• Experience working with a silicon team through at least one tapeout as a design, DV, CAD, or methodology engineer.
• Understanding of lint, clock-domain-crossing checks, coverage, waivers, ECOs, and signoff.
• Ability to distinguish useful process rules from rules that only slow engineering teams down, and to explain rules clearly.
• Availability for occasional travel, with a few trips per year to meet teams in person.

Nice to have

• Experience with formal verification, SystemVerilog Assertions, or DV methodology.
• Experience with commercial lint, clock-domain-crossing, or formal tools and their report formats.
• Experience with traceable-evidence processes such as DO-254 or ISO 26262.
• Experience building dashboards or data pipelines from CI and regression results.
• Experience building tools for or with AI coding agents, or familiarity with Bluespec or another high-level hardware description language.
