Senior Principal Electrical Engineer (Medical Devices)

Location: Mounds View, Minnesota, United States; onsite at least 4 days per week

Salary: $164,800–$247,200 per year

What you will do

• Lead electrical systems development for a next-generation renal denervation RF ablation generator.
• Own activities spanning architecture, circuit card design, fabrication, verification, validation, characterization, integration, and lifecycle support.
• Decompose system and product requirements into electrical hardware requirements, test strategies, and verification plans.
• Lead the electrical engineering workstream, including execution planning, technical reviews, scrum facilitation, scheduling, and issue resolution.
• Manage electrical and system risks through FMEAs, hazard analyses, mitigation strategies, and design controls.
• Partner with systems, software, manufacturing, quality, and program teams to support producibility, design transfer, and compliant product delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 10 years of electrical systems engineering experience; alternatively, an advanced degree with 8 years of experience or a PhD with 6 years of experience.
• Experience leading complex multidisciplinary electrical engineering programs and providing technical mentorship.
• Knowledge of circuit card design, electrical systems development, verification, validation, and characterization.
• Must work onsite in Mounds View, Minnesota at least 4 days per week.
• U.S. work authorization requirements apply; sponsorship is offered for Principal-level roles and above.

Nice to have

• Experience with electromechanical systems, capital equipment, and hardware-software integration.
• Experience with IEC 60601-1 or another highly regulated industry.
• Experience with RF energy delivery, SOMs, or FPGA.
• Experience with ISO 14971, product concept development, customer interaction, systems engineering, and requirements verification and validation.
