Engineering Manager II (AI)

Location: Lisbon, Portugal

Base salary: €70,400–€105,600 annually

What you will do

• Lead a cross-functional team of engineers, a designer, and data scientists building intelligent payment products.
• Own the quality, delivery, operation, and success measurement of payment intelligence products.
• Work with the team and Product Manager to define product direction and prioritize impactful technical initiatives.
• Deliver MVP experiments and product features that improve payment success and merchant cash flow.
• Maintain high standards for technical design, implementation, testing, and operational reliability.
• Hire, support, and develop engineers through feedback, 1:1s, and career development.

Requirements

• Professional coding experience with Python and Ruby on Rails for backend development.
• Experience with JavaScript and React for frontend development.
• Commitment to building reliable, well-tested, and operationally excellent systems.
• Ability to communicate technical topics effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience collaborating with Product Managers, Designers, Data Scientists, and commercial teams.
• High agency, ownership, adaptability, and enthusiasm for experimentation and continuous learning.
