Backend Engineer (Mid/Senior) (Go)

Location: Nicosia, Cyprus; office-based four days per week with one remote day

What you will do

• Write high-quality, performant backend code primarily in Go.
• Implement new microservices and responsibly migrate away from legacy services.
• Translate abstract requirements into technical designs with product managers, designers, and data scientists.
• Optimize systems for responsiveness, low latency, and reliability under heavy load.
• Apply TDD, domain-driven design, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building and maintaining scalable backend services; 5+ years for senior candidates.
• Experience with Go, or strong engineering fundamentals in another language such as Python, C++, Java, or Ruby.
• In-depth knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Upper-Intermediate (B2) English or higher, with the ability to discuss technical trade-offs.
