Vehicle Powertrain Calibration Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Mexico City and Puebla, Mexico; onsite role.

Independent engineering company focused on the development, simulation, and testing of powertrain technologies and their integration into vehicles.

What you will do

• Perform vehicle powertrain calibration activities on engine test beds and vehicle test benches.
• Investigate and resolve ECU-related issues during testing of internal combustion engines and hybrid powertrains.
• Adapt calibration data to meet emissions, drivability, fuel consumption, and performance targets.
• Lead the development and implementation of measures that prevent ECU issues and improve engine or hybrid system KPIs.
• Analyze test data and formally present and report testing results.

Requirements

• Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, physics, or a comparable field.
• Genuine interest in and knowledge of internal combustion engines and hybrid powertrains.
• Ability to investigate root causes, analyze data, and communicate findings clearly.
• Strong coordination, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Good knowledge of English required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of automotive electronics.
• Knowledge of automotive communication systems such as CAN.
• German language knowledge.
