Process Engineer (Pharma)

Location: Boulder, Colorado, United States; full-time day shift with occasional travel.

Salary: $103,200–$161,250 per year, plus eligibility for bonus, stock, and benefits.

What you will do

• Support the design, construction, commissioning, qualification, and validation of capital projects from concept design through manufacturing handover.
• Develop user requirement specifications, process designs, equipment and instrumentation specifications, procurement packages, and commissioning documentation.
• Coordinate project schedules, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams, including design firms, equipment suppliers, constructors, and manufacturing stakeholders.
• Support technical transfers and process scale-up from chemical development into manufacturing.
• Participate in process hazard analyses, pre-startup safety reviews, process safety management, and environmental health and safety activities.
• Review and execute FAT/SAT and IQ/OQ/PQ protocols, and support change controls, CAPAs, audit responses, and validation reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Biochemical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent education and experience.
• 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, or fine chemicals industry.
• 4 years of experience with P&IDs, facility layouts, mass and energy balances, solvent handling, equipment sizing, URSs, SOPs, and process troubleshooting.
• 4 years of experience in process engineering and participation in projects spanning design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and qualification.
• Ability to perform responsibilities independently with limited direction.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with ASME BPE, NFPA 70/NEC, and international fire and building codes.
• Experience with SCADA, PLC, BAS, and validation documentation for IQ/OQ/PQ protocols.
• Experience using AutoCAD, Revit, or Visio.
