Senior Security/COMSEC Engineer

Location: Norfolk, Virginia, USA; requires CONUS/OCONUS travel and on-site COMSEC audits and installations.

Salary: $110,000–$133,000 per year, paid weekly.

What you will do

• Manage day-to-day Navy COMSEC account operations, including compliance visits and inspections.
• Conduct COMSEC audits covering administration, handling, security procedures, inventories, and destruction.
• Maintain, upgrade, troubleshoot, and support the life-cycle management of COMSEC hardware.
• Support Shore Local Element management and the secure handling of COMSEC material.
• Provide cybersecurity, RMF, and incident response support for COMSEC networks, enclaves, and equipment.
• Develop SOPs and security documentation, deliver user training, and support continuity of operations.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship, an active Top Secret clearance, and a T5 background investigation are required.
• Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET-accredited or CAE-designated institution, qualifying DoD or military training, or one of the accepted certifications: CISM, CISSO, FITSP-M, GCSA, GCIH, GSLC, or GICSP.
• 8–10 years of experience in COMSEC management and operations.
• Experience with DoD cybersecurity and RMF processes, Navy COMSEC programs, and CMS-1, CMS-3, or COMSCINST 2280 series.
• Experience developing security documentation and strong interpersonal, analytical, technical, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• Availability for CONUS/OCONUS travel is required.
