Compliance Operations Manager (SOC 2)

Location: Remote within the United States. Candidates must already be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Base salary: $130,000–$160,000 annually, plus a target annual bonus of 15% of base salary and participation in long-term incentive programs.

What you will do

• Own SOC 2 compliance operations across readiness, fieldwork, evidence collection, audit response, and remediation.
• Coordinate with auditors and internal stakeholders to maintain accurate evidence repositories, control narratives, and audit documentation.
• Support SOX strategy and control evaluation while leading ISO 27001 readiness, gap assessment, and certification workstreams.
• Manage cross-functional compliance projects, timelines, milestones, stakeholder accountability, and control ownership.
• Identify control weaknesses and opportunities to automate or streamline recurring evidence collection.
• Maintain control inventories, ownership mappings, audit calendars, playbooks, and compliance processes as the company scales.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in compliance operations, IT or security compliance, audit, or a related field.
• Direct experience supporting SOC 2 audits and a strong background in compliance and privacy.
• Working knowledge of SOX and ISO 27001 frameworks, or the ability to quickly learn and apply new frameworks.
• Experience managing multiple audit and compliance uplift workstreams with strong project management skills.
• Experience partnering with engineering, IT, finance, and business teams to collect evidence and manage controls.
• Strong written communication, attention to detail, accountability, and familiarity with AWS, Jira, GitHub, HubSpot, Google Workspace, and Slack.

• Experience in a startup or high-growth environment.
• Experience with compliance automation or GRC tooling.
• Familiarity with GDPR, CCPA, or HIPAA.
• Experience supporting a company's first SOC 2, SOX, or ISO 27001 certification.
