Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator-Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute Full time Days (Clinical Trials/Cardiovascular Research): Coordinating and supporting clinical research studies from feasibility and protocol approval through data collection, compliance review, and manuscript submission with an accent on clinical nursing practice, cardiac surgery research, and regulatory standards. Focus on guiding investigators and research nurses, developing protocols and standard operating procedures, and supporting patient safety during adverse events and complex clinical situations.
Location: 676 N. St. Clair, Chicago, Illinois, United States. Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm, day shift.
Salary: USD 40.50-64.80 per hour.

What you will do
- Lead coordination and operational support for Principal Investigators and investigator-initiated or sponsor-funded clinical research studies.
- Review studies for feasibility and guide protocol development, revision, maintenance, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage research projects from conception, approval, and data collection through literature review, publications, and manuscript submission.
- Develop clinical nursing research policies, standard operating procedures, guidelines, and workflows.
- Guide clinical research nurses and collaborate with coordinators and education staff on training, unfamiliar procedures, medications, and patient safety.
- Support research staff and inpatient or outpatient teams during adverse events, emergencies, and complex clinical situations.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Illinois required.
- Clinical trials experience and at least two years of related clinical experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
- Current CPR-BLS certification through the American Heart Association required.
- Knowledge of clinical research standards, protocols, regulatory requirements, and professional nursing practice.
- Work on site in Chicago during the stated Monday-Friday day schedule.
Nice to have
- Master of Science in Nursing.
- Experience in cardiac surgery, particularly valve and atrial fibrillation procedures.
- SOCRA or ACRP certification and certification in a clinical specialty.
- Professional nursing organization membership and ACLS certification where required.
