Business Intelligence (BI) Developer

Location: Nationwide United States, remote home office

Salary: $74,090.00–$125,954.00 annually

What you will do

• Translate analyst requirements and documentation into effective BI designs and technical solutions.
• Develop and maintain scheduled and ad hoc reports for varied business audiences.
• Maintain data integrity across energy efficiency programs and troubleshoot data quality issues.
• Build data lakes, optimize ETL pipelines, and manage SQL databases.
• Provide architectural guidance for scalable, secure cloud-based analytics solutions.
• Support modernization of BI capabilities and integration of new features and data sources.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Data, Science, Math, or a related field, with related experience eligible as an education substitute.
• At least 2 years of experience with SQL Server, including query tuning, procedures, functions, and views.
• At least 2 years of experience with SQL querying, scripting, and complex query optimization.
• At least 2 years of experience with BI tools such as Power BI and SQL Server Reporting Services.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Must be able to work remotely from within the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting recurring reporting deliverables for varied audiences.
• Exposure to utility, energy, or energy efficiency sectors.
• Knowledge of database structures, normalization, data modeling, and task automation.
• Experience modernizing legacy BI systems into cloud platforms and creating technical documentation and architectural diagrams.
• Experience with Fabric, Azure, Python, PySpark, Hadoop, or Databricks.
