TL;DR
Project Director (Infrastructure): Leading the building aspect of the Washwood Heath Depot project from inception to completion with an accent on large-scale infrastructure delivery, budget control, risk management, and stakeholder coordination. Focus on managing complex construction programs, leading multidisciplinary teams, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with quality, safety, environmental, and JV requirements.

Location: Birmingham, United Kingdom; travel to project offices and sites as required

hirify.global is delivering the Washwood Heath Depot project through a Taylor Woodrow / hirify.global joint venture.

What you will do

  • Lead the building aspect of the project lifecycle from planning and execution through monitoring and closeout.
  • Develop project scopes, work breakdown structures, resource plans, schedules, and delivery timelines.
  • Manage project budgets, cost efficiency, quality, safety, environmental compliance, and JV procedures.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, prepare contingency plans, and report progress to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Build and lead project teams while coordinating clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
  • Negotiate vendor and subcontractor contracts and drive improvements in project management and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • At least 15 years of progressive infrastructure project management experience, including 5 years in a senior leadership or Director-level role.
  • Track record of delivering large, complex infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, railways, data centres, or utilities.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies, construction contracts, legal frameworks, and infrastructure regulations.
  • Experience managing large budgets, multiple teams, and diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, and project management software skills.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • PMP or PgMP certification.
  • Experience working with HS2.
