Personal Financial Counselor, PFC - Hilo, HI

Location: Hilo, Hawaii, at an assigned military installation; U.S. citizenship is required.

Salary: $58,440–$93,500 annually.

What you will do

• Provide personal financial counseling and management services to service members and their families.
• Help participants establish spending plans for extended absences and other stages of the military lifecycle.
• Develop financial education materials and deliver classes, workshops, briefings, and seminars.
• Provide counseling through approved virtual communication tools and secure video services when authorized.
• Coordinate with installation and military branch Points of Contact, leadership, and other providers.
• Manage duty-to-warn situations and participate in supervision, training, quality improvement, and related contract activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; an associate degree plus four years of experience or a high school diploma plus six years of experience may be considered instead.
• At least three years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizenship and fluent English are required.
• Must be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation and pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest process.
• Must hold one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
• Valid in-state driver’s license required.
