Senior Manager, Global Procurement (Materials)

A manufacturer-to-consumer retail business delivering apparel, accessories, home goods, and other essentials through direct manufacturing partnerships, operational processes, proprietary technology, AI, and analytics.

What you will do

• Monitor global commodity markets, raw material prices, currency movements, supply risks, and macro-material trends.
• Build live tracking systems and material-specific clean sheets to establish transparent component costs and support Tier 1 negotiations.
• Map Tier 2 and Tier 3 suppliers, develop upstream network strategies, consolidate volumes, and increase direct-to-mill buying power.
• Design and execute RFPs for raw material vendors, yarn spinners, mills, tanneries, and other upstream partners.
• Negotiate cost-reduction agreements while protecting quality, supply continuity, sustainability, and margin targets.
• Identify value-creation opportunities through verticalization, commodity strategies, and supply chain consolidation.

Requirements

• 12–15 years of experience in raw material sourcing, commodity procurement, or upstream supply chain management.
• Deep knowledge of textile raw materials, including yarns, fibers, fabrics, leather, and related commodities.
• Direct negotiation experience with mills, tanneries, yarn spinners, and raw material vendors.
• Knowledge of commodity hedging frameworks, global market indices, and material-specific clean-sheet costing.
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, including comfort working with large data sets.
• Technical aptitude for using AI-powered platforms and scenario analysis tools; a bachelor’s degree is required.

Nice to have

• Experience designing or consolidating upstream supply chain networks.
• MBA or another advanced degree.
