Senior Data Architect (Databricks)

Location: Brazil; remote home office with consistent overlap with US Central business hours

What you will do

• Provide hands-on technical leadership to database specialists and developers building and maintaining data products and pipelines.
• Define and evolve ingestion, lakehouse, data modeling, governance, and serving architecture with appropriate security, performance, and cost standards.
• Translate business and technical requirements into practical solutions, selecting frameworks, patterns, and modeling approaches.
• Present architectural options and trade-offs to client architects and business leaders, documenting decisions for delivery teams.
• Establish standards for data quality, access control, lineage, and privacy for regulated and sensitive data.
• Support reliable delivery through CI/CD, DataOps, assessments, knowledge transfer, proofs of concept, and prototypes.

Requirements

• Advanced English at C1 level or above is mandatory for daily engagement with North American stakeholders.
• Proven experience in data architecture design and hands-on technical leadership of multidisciplinary data teams.
• Experience building and deploying data pipelines, lakehouse architectures, and data products at scale.
• Hands-on Databricks experience, including Delta Lake and Unity Catalog, or equivalent depth with AWS data services.
• Strong dimensional and relational data modeling skills with advanced SQL.
• Experience with orchestration and workflow automation such as dbt, Databricks Workflows, or Apache Airflow, plus the ability to overlap consistently with US Central business hours.

Nice to have

• Databricks certification.
• Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse platforms.
• Knowledge of data governance and privacy principles in regulated industries.
• Experience with CI/CD and MLOps pipeline practices.
• Familiarity with AI solutions, agentic coding workflows, consultative data assessments, and data modernization engagements.
• Spanish or Portuguese language skills.
