Director – Manager Research, Multi-Manager Solutions (Fixed Income)

Location: Boston, New York, or Minneapolis, United States. Hybrid schedule with at least four days per week in the office and one day per week available to work from home.

Base salary: $135,000–$185,000 per year, plus potential variable compensation and long-term incentives.

What you will do

• Lead research, selection, and ongoing due diligence of fixed income investment managers across high yield, investment grade credit, structured products, and emerging markets debt.
• Conduct detailed discussions with chief investment officers, portfolio managers, analysts, traders, consultants, and other senior investment professionals.
• Deliver evidence-based hire, retain, and terminate recommendations to internal decision-making and governance groups.
• Present investment ideas and portfolio reviews to institutional clients and help develop investment guidelines and research parameters.
• Support portfolio construction through analysis of duration, yield curve exposure, sector allocation, and risk factors.
• Develop quantitative screening, reporting, and analytical tools while monitoring manager performance, people, processes, organizations, and market trends.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of manager research experience covering fixed income strategies, including the ability to lead manager searches, selection, and oversight independently.
• Deep knowledge of fixed income investing, rates, credit, securitized markets, and emerging markets debt.
• Experience with European and United States fund requirements and investment processes across asset managers.
• Proficiency with Bloomberg, Aladdin, eVestment, Morningstar, and quantitative screening or reporting tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical judgment, problem-solving, collaboration, and senior stakeholder influencing skills.
• Must already have United States work authorization and must not require current or future visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Progress toward or completion of the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
• Advanced degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
