Risk & Disputes Intern (Fintech)

Location: Brazil, Remote. Full-time availability is required Monday through Friday from 9:00 am–5:30 pm Central Time.

Salary: $800 USD per month as an independent contractor.

What you will do

• Investigate disputed credit card, debit card, and ACH transactions and resolve cases within required timeframes.
• Work cross-functionally with fraud, disputes, operations, data science, and engineering teams.
• Analyze transactions, account patterns, and internal data to identify fraud trends and recommend appropriate actions.
• Help improve loss prevention mechanisms, processes, and tools.
• Maintain strong knowledge of fraud prevention techniques and technologies.
• Meet service-level agreements and handle internal and external escalations professionally.

Requirements

• Experience analyzing data and making decisions in fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environments.
• Strong attention to detail, multitasking, problem-solving, analytical, business judgment, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently after training and take ownership of assigned cases.
• Demonstrated experience with Claude or equivalent large language model tools and comfort using AI for productivity, research, and communication.
• Ability to work full-time during the specified Central Time schedule while based in Brazil.
