Lead AI Engineer

Location: Remote - Global; fully remote. Candidates must have the right to work in the country where they are based.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain multi-turn conversation systems with context management, tool calling, RAG, state management, and human handoff.
• Define success criteria with Product, Design, and QA leads and create evaluation sets, regression tests, and production monitoring.
• Diagnose failures across model judgment, knowledge, tool responses, backend stability, and conflicting rules.
• Own production reliability through timeouts, retries, graceful degradation, asynchronous jobs, dependency-failure handling, logging, versioning, and recovery paths.
• Shape product and technical decisions by assessing feasibility, cost, risk, alternatives, and phased deliverables.
• Track post-launch impact and provide progress updates, documentation, and handover materials.

Requirements

• Production LLM or Agent experience at scale, including features used by 10,000+ active users.
• Strong backend engineering fundamentals covering production code, APIs, data flows, and incident troubleshooting.
• Experience building evaluation sets, regression suites, and production monitoring, with the ability to verify measurable improvements.
• Ownership of features through launch, risk identification, production verification, and continuous improvement.
• Experience with crypto, DeFi, or Web3 companies is preferred, especially wallets, exchanges, L1/L2 protocols, or DeFi platforms.
• Right to work in the country of residence is required.
