Editor, Test Development (Securities)

Location: Rockville, MD, with a hybrid work environment and defined in-person presence requirements; infrequent travel of less than 10%.

Salary: $34.75–$61.50 per hour in Rockville, MD. Other published U.S. location ranges vary by work location.

What you will do

• Edit exam questions and continuing education content for style, grammar, clarity, and terminology.
• Proofread and copy edit content outlines, communications, presentations, technical reports, and other supporting materials.
• Maintain style guides covering writing, formatting, and terminology standards.
• Work with Content Managers, internal staff, and client representatives to clarify meaning and meet project schedules.
• Train authors on editorial style and usage standards and advise hirify.global staff on editorial matters.
• Contribute to special projects assigned by management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, or a related field, plus at least two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Ability to quickly gain sufficient subject-matter familiarity to edit technical material successfully.
• Strong verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with software.
• Ability to work in the hybrid environment with defined in-person presence requirements.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with testing, financial, or securities industries.
• Familiarity with Associated Press style.
