Oracle Exadata Senior Administrator (Oracle Exadata/OCI): Managing on-premises and cloud Exadata environments across deployment, patching, performance engineering, high availability, disaster recovery, and capacity management with an accent on Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, OCI, and Exadata storage optimization. Focus on designing resilient mission-critical database platforms, automating ExaCS and ExaCC lifecycle operations, tuning Smart Scan and I/O performance, and leading DR, security, and operational improvement activities.
Location: Cairo, Egypt; in-person collaboration is prioritized.

What you will do
- Deploy, configure, patch, upgrade, and administer Oracle Exadata Database Machine environments across X8M, X9M, and X10M platforms.
- Provision and manage Exadata Cloud Service and Exadata Cloud@Customer environments on OCI, including VM clusters, database homes, networking, IAM, scaling, and lifecycle operations.
- Configure and maintain Oracle RAC, RAC One Node, Data Guard, RMAN backups, Active Data Guard, and cross-platform disaster recovery procedures.
- Monitor and tune Exadata performance using AWR, ASH, ADDM, cell metrics, ExaWatcher, OSWatcher, Smart Scan, IORM, and resource plans.
- Implement security and compliance controls including TDE, Oracle Key Vault, Database Vault, Audit Vault, Data Masking, CIS benchmarks, and security patching.
- Maintain operational runbooks and architecture documentation, support incidents and root cause analysis, collaborate with stakeholders, and mentor junior administrators.
Requirements
- 7–8 years of progressive Oracle Database and infrastructure administration experience, including at least 4 years focused on Exadata.
- Hands-on experience with Exadata on-premises, CellCLI, ExaCLI, dbaascli, ILOM, InfiniBand or RoCE networking, and Exadata patching tools.
- Experience with Exadata Cloud Service or Exadata Cloud@Customer on OCI, including OCI networking, IAM, Terraform, and lifecycle management.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, Smart Scan, Storage Indexes, HCC, Smart Flash Cache, and PMEM.
- Experience with Oracle Database 19c and 23ai, Oracle Linux or RHEL, shell scripting, and Python automation.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to document and present technical solutions to DBA teams, architects, and clients.
Nice to have
- Oracle Exadata, Oracle Database, or OCI professional certifications.
- Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager 13c, GoldenGate, Autonomous Database on Dedicated Exadata Infrastructure, or ZDLRA.
- Familiarity with OCI Operations Insights, Database Management, Performance Hub, CDB/PDB consolidation, ITIL, or managed services delivery.
