Senior Director, Technology Operations

Location: Christchurch, New Zealand; office-based with attendance at a hirify.global office 3 or more days per week. Occasional Tier 3 after-hours support and flexibility across global time zones may be required.

What you will do

• Define and execute the Technology Operations strategy across reliability, security, resilience, and cost objectives.
• Lead shared cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, developer tooling, observability, HPC infrastructure, and AI/ML development environments.
• Establish the application security program, including secure development practices and vulnerability management.
• Own production and build infrastructure readiness, monitoring, logging, access controls, incident management, and resilience planning.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, Security, Legal, and customer-facing teams on compliance, audits, privacy, and customer due diligence.
• Lead FinOps, technology investment planning, and a global Technology Operations organisation of managers and technical leaders.

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of technology leadership experience, ideally across platform engineering, infrastructure, SRE, operations, or application security.
• Experience building and operating cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, and shared engineering platforms.
• Deep expertise in DevSecOps, secure platform engineering, infrastructure-as-code, application security testing, and vulnerability management.
• Strong knowledge of reliability engineering, incident management, operational metrics, security, privacy, compliance, and audit-driven environments.
• Executive stakeholder management, organisational leadership, team development, financial management, forecasting, and cloud cost optimisation experience.
