TL;DR
Software Build Engineer (Aerospace): Building and supporting CI/CD pipelines, test infrastructure, and software delivery systems for flight vehicles, spacecraft, launch operations, and production with an accent on build automation, embedded software deployment, and operational reliability. Focus on maintaining Docker and Kubernetes environments, automating manual processes, and solving complex build and mission-operations challenges across engineering teams.
Location: Auckland, New Zealand. This position is based in a New Zealand office. Background and nationality checks are required, and access to regulated equipment and data is subject to ITAR eligibility requirements.

What you will do
- Build, document, and support CI/CD pipelines for flight vehicle, spacecraft, operations, and production software.
- Support infrastructure used for stack testing and launch operations.
- Identify manual processes and automate them for software and engineering teams.
- Help maintain Docker and Kubernetes environments and coordinate infrastructure needs with IT.
- Write and maintain software supporting test and mission operations.
- Document solutions, review code, estimate tickets, and contribute to an agile team alongside avionics, operations, and production stakeholders.
Requirements
- 3+ years of software development experience focused on build systems, CI, and deployment.
- Experience coding in a compiled language such as C# or C++.
- Experience with Git, Linux, and Windows system administration.
- Experience with a build system such as TeamCity, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Travis CI, or TFS CI.
- Experience with build tooling such as make, CMake, or Automake, and with building and deploying embedded and desktop software.
- For the New Zealand office, eligibility to access ITAR-regulated equipment and data is required; eligible citizenships include Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, the European Union, or a NATO country, subject to applicable restrictions.
Nice to have
- Degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Scrum experience.
- Docker or Kubernetes experience.
- Web and cloud software deployment, network security, project management, or provisioning systems such as Chef, Puppet, Salt, or Terraform.
