Corporate Credit Funds - Associate / Associate Director (Chicago)

Location: Chicago, Illinois; hybrid schedule with office attendance Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday

Annual base salary: $100,000–$130,000

What you will do

• Support new issuance ratings by evaluating transaction capital structures, legal protections, collateral quality, portfolio composition, asset performance, and cash flow dynamics.
• Analyze portfolios of middle-market corporate loans, bonds, and other credit instruments, including sponsor-backed exposures.
• Participate in due diligence meetings with asset managers, direct lenders, arrangers, and issuers.
• Prepare rating memoranda and new issuance reports while maintaining transaction databases and analytical tools.
• Monitor outstanding transactions, including portfolio performance, credit migration, and concentration trends.
• Collaborate across structured credit, corporate finance, financial institutions, and ABS teams on cross-sector transactions and credit research.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Two to four years of experience in corporate credit analysis, private credit, direct lending, fund investing, CLO analysis, or structured finance.
• Understanding of corporate loan structures, capital structures, and credit analysis, with an interest in middle-market lending and private credit.
• Proficiency in Excel; experience with financial modeling and cash flow analysis is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with CLOs or structured credit transactions.
• Familiarity with generative AI tools such as ChatGPT for research, data insights, and productivity.
