TL;DR
Senior Director, Launch Systems (Aerospace): Leading day-to-day operations at Voyager’s Mojave propulsion and flight-test site with an accent on safety, schedule, cost, quality, and multidisciplinary team leadership. Focus on planning rocket and GN&C test campaigns, scaling site operations, managing manufacturing and test execution, and driving performance through ERP, labor tracking, and operational dashboards.

Location: On-site in Mojave, California, United States; limited travel as needed.

Base salary: $245,000–$270,000 USD per year.

What you will do

  • Own day-to-day operations for the Mojave site, including propulsion testing, flight testing, manufacturing support, facilities, and safety.
  • Lead planning and execution of flight-test and GN&C technology test campaigns.
  • Manage operating budgets, capacity planning, ERP usage, labor tracking, KPIs, and performance dashboards.
  • Coordinate site execution with strategic systems, program management, engineering, business development, and functional leadership.
  • Build scalable schedules and processes for higher-rate operations and new program integration.
  • Lead and develop multidisciplinary engineering, test, operations, manufacturing, quality, and safety teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a US Government clearance, which requires US citizenship.
  • 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in aerospace, space, defense, or advanced manufacturing and test operations.
  • Experience managing a manufacturing, propulsion-test, or flight-test facility with responsibility for safety, schedule, cost, and quality.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in a hands-on operating environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems, labor tracking, KPIs, and operational performance measurement.

  • Experience with rocket propulsion testing, flight-test operations, or range safety.
