What you will do

  • Measure the kinetic and thermodynamic properties of cementitious material components.
  • Design mixtures and conduct measurements for novel concrete 3D printing applications.
  • Analyze rheological properties, reaction rates, and mechanical property development of novel materials.
  • Write and publish journal articles based on completed studies.
  • Assist with grant proposals and develop new research ideas.
  • Mentor graduate students and oversee laboratory equipment, materials inventory, and safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree.
  • Theoretical knowledge of thermodynamics and kinetics of phase transformations.
  • Background in experimental thermal methods, rheological metrology, and microscopy.
  • Ability to conduct experimental research, publish findings, and support grant development.
  • Employment requires verification of identity and authorization to work in the United States.
  • Work is based at the College Station, Texas campus.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of inorganic chemistry, especially cement chemistry.
  • Experience with cement hydration, carbonation, cold sintering, or materials characterization.
